What we collect when you rent from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

This policy describes how Madden Capital LLC, doing business as Value Drive Rentals (“we,” “us,” “our”) handles personal information. We rent vehicles in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Value Drive Rentals is a trade name of Madden Capital LLC and is not a separate legal entity.

This policy covers information we collect through our website, our online booking system, in person at our location, and in the course of a rental.

What we collect

  • Identity and contact information — your name, mobile phone number, email address, postal address, and date of birth.
  • Driver information — driver's licence details, and the same for any additional authorised drivers.
  • Insurance information — your policy details where required to meet Pennsylvania financial-responsibility rules.
  • Booking and payment information — reservation dates, vehicle selected, rates, deposits, and payment card details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers ourselves.
  • Rental records — condition records, mileage, fuel, tolls, violations, damage claims and correspondence.
  • Website information — basic technical information such as IP address and browser type when you visit this site, and information you enter into our booking window.

How we use it

We use your information to take and confirm your booking, verify eligibility and identity, meet insurance and financial-responsibility requirements, deliver and recover vehicles, process payments and deposits, handle tolls, violations, damage and claims, keep required business and tax records, and communicate with you about your rental.

We do not sell your personal information.

Phone numbers and text messages

We use the mobile number you provide to send text messages about your rental, and occasional offers about newly available vehicles, where you have given written consent on your rental agreement. The full program terms, including message types, frequency and how to opt out, are set out in our SMS Terms.

Mobile information sharing

No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services, such as our messaging provider and customer service tools, is permitted solely to operate the program.

Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any other purpose.

Consenting to text messages is optional and is not a condition of renting a vehicle. You can withdraw consent at any time by replying STOP to any message.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only where it is needed to run the rental or where the law requires it:

  • Service providers — our booking platform, payment processor, messaging provider, and tolling and telematics vendors, each acting on our instructions.
  • Insurers, claim administrators and adjusters where a claim arises.
  • Tolling authorities, parking authorities, law enforcement and courts in connection with tolls, citations, violations or lawful requests.
  • Vehicle owners, lienholders or financing parties where a vehicle is owned or financed by another party.
  • Recovery agents where a vehicle is overdue or not returned.
  • Professional advisers such as our accountants and attorneys.
  • A successor in the event of a sale or reorganisation of the business.

If you booked through a marketplace such as Turo, that platform handles your information under its own privacy policy, which is separate from this one.

Vehicle and telematics data

Some vehicles in our fleet carry GPS or telematics equipment. Where they do, you receive clear notice in your rental agreement. We use this data to locate and recover vehicles, monitor maintenance and safety, verify mileage and geographic limits, and respond to accidents and theft. We do not intentionally record private in-vehicle conversations, and we will not activate audio recording or disclose in-cabin audio or video without separate clear notice and a lawful basis.

How long we keep it

We keep rental records, signed agreements and consent records for as long as needed to run and defend the rental relationship and to satisfy tax, insurance, accounting and legal retention requirements, and then dispose of them securely. Signed SMS consent records are retained for the period required to demonstrate consent.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, physical and technical safeguards appropriate to the size of our business to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

  • Text messages — reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for assistance.
  • Access and correction — email us to request a copy of the information we hold about you, or to correct it.
  • Deletion — you can ask us to delete information we are not required to keep for legal, tax, insurance or claim reasons.

Send any of these requests to info@valuedriverentals.com. We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request.

Children

Our services are for adults aged 21 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as our business changes. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
